Tips on Marketing Your Home Based Business.....

Don't forget the simple things, like a decal on your car..for the price of half a tank of gas you can adverize wherever you go!

...Are you having problems marketing your home based business locally?

We have put together a few simple methods that have worked successfully for many moms in home business and we are constantly learning of new ways, which we will be adding to these pages.....

I am going to start with a few easy and cost efficient ways to successfully market your home based business....

(We also welcome any new ideas and tips that have worked for you, that you are willing to share with others!)

  • Put up flyers in your local grocery stores, laundromats, or anywhere there is a bulletin board..

One of my good friends that got started in a home based business put up flyers in her local laundromat ~ she lives in a very small town in British Columbia~ and made almost $20,000 through that alone!!

  • Have simple business cards made up...Keep it simple enough to raise curiosity...For instance ~ Just have two lines on a white background....People can't resist looking to see what it is!

  • "Need additional income?" - first line
  • website address - second line

  • Place short classifieds in your local penny saver or nickel ads newspaper...Keep it short...

My husband ran a few local ads for his business and got calls every day on it! He is involved in an all natural energy drink network marketing business and his ad simply read "Energy drink testers wanted - call xxx-xxx-xxxx"

(Several months ago, I placed an ad in our locad newspaper and there was a typo so it read "Looking for directions in this area - Make $3000 a month. call xxx-xxx-xxxx"...

When I saw the ad come out, I was horrified at first and then I thought I might as well have fun with it :-)

Needless to say, I didn't have a hard time connecting with those people, it was actually kinda fun to see who would call next to see how they could make an extra 3k for giving directions!!:)

These ads are usually very inexpensive to run and because you are in business for yoursef, a wise thing to do is to constantly be testing things to see what works best in marketing your home based business...

We have just found that shorter ads tend to work better for us..

  • Craigslist.org and Backpage.com are excellent places to place free classifieds ~ place your ads in the services section, under small biz ads to avoid getting tagged...

Place a couple small ads every day. It only takes a few minutes a day and is a way to generate free leads...(tip: sign up with several email addresses so you can post more ads!)

  • I have also found that calling leads can be a very effective way to get a lot of people exposed to your home business or network marketing business as well....but if you can find a way to have people coming to you, it works so much better!

  • Set up an information booth at a local fair or flea market...have a drawing for a free item and on your drawing slips, have specific questions...a great way to generate your own leads and also to get out into the community with your products and services!

An example of the info on your drawing slips would...

  • ENTER TO WIN
  • Name, address, etc...
  • I'd like more information about: Must check one to be elgible)
  • Discount products
  • Working from home
  • Both

Keep in mind, these are just a few of the ideas on low-cost methods of marketing your home based business locally, just enough to get your creative juices flowing =)
