What’s especially appealing about an online affiliate marketing method of advertising is that it’s simple for anyone to do.

So even those who aren’t especially savvy when it comes to the technical workings of the internet can easily learn how to become successful at selling on it.

If you already have a website, squidoo lens, blog site or anything like that , then you are all set to start your online affiliate marketing, especially if you have a lot of traffic coming to your site.

Keep in mind – that regardless what you are marketing, traffic is your key to success! and highly targeted traffic is even better! (but that is a subject all it’s own!)

Affiliate website marketing is one of the oldest but fastest growing methods of earning an income online. With affiliate marketing the basics is really quite simple ~

It is actually a win-win situation because the affiliates and product owners all benefit from it, sharing the commissions. Even the customer wins if the affiliate has sent a highly targeted niche audience member to a product that suits his needs.

For instance, if you have a website or are blogging about real estate in your area, and are able to contract with local real estate agents to place ads on your site, you can make affiliate commissions or even charge them a fee to place their ads on your site.

You create the content that draws highly targeted traffic that are interested in what you have to offer and if they find property through reading your interesting pages about the area, everyone wins! The realtor wins because he makes a sale, your client finds their dream property and you win a commission plus more traffic to your site…

That is just an example – there are many areas to choose from. You can create a site about anything under the sun and make money with affiliate links!

Most of the links on this site are free resources that I have personally found to be helpful in my business, but several of them are affiliate links as well...

A good way to start directing traffic to your site is by using a signature file in forums. To find specific forums for your niche is to put your niche + forum and google it.

For example, if I was doing real estate for our area – (my next project idea!) I would google Montana real estate + forum and post around in the forum.

In some forums you may not be able to blatantly advertise but you can have a link to your website or blog in your signature and expose your site to hundreds or thousands of viewers on the forums and by the way, for smart affiliate marketing advertising, have your links in ALL your signatures, in your emails – anywhere that you sign your name!
